Famous architect duo, Federico Correa and Alfonso Milá, once again enlisted the help of Alfonso’s younger brother-designer Miguel Milá for this project. They were commissioned to design the lighting in the new office of Barcelona Mayor Pasqual Maragall, who oversaw the city’s successful bid for the 1992 Olympics. The administrative office would also be frequented by a large body of the international political community and was in urgent need of a revamp that would showcase the high standard of Barcelona design on the world stage. Santa & Cole produced the original lamps, and in 1995 the company embarked on limited production of this series of lamps, named after the mayor’s wife.
The Diana lamp is slender, sturdy and well-defined, retain the grace and definition that characterises the whole family. The Diana
effortlessly combines a classic air with a modern design, both at home and at the office.
