A tribute to tradition
The main feature of the collection, comprising a dining room chair and armchair, is the woven rope, which is intended as a homage to craftsmanship. “It is a way for POINT to reconnect with its roots, with its tradition”, says Christophe Pillet. “This is an almost indefinite, classic, universal object, which we redesigned very slightly to give it a new touch of modernity”. Summer is a new take on the traditional chair: universal, simple, functional and timeless, but now given a touch of refinement, technical precision and sensuality. “The decorative effect is produced here by the texture of the weave. It therefore has something very elaborate (handmade), with a very strong, very simple design,” explains the designer. It is made from aluminium combined with rope and is available in different colours. The collection also includes three dining tables.

A versatile designer –furniture, product, interior design–, architect, stage designer, artistic director, Christophe Pillet (Montargis, France, 1959) is one of the most influential creators of our time. Some of his pieces are found in the collections of the Pompidou Centre, the Centre National des Arts Plastiques, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs (in Paris) and the Cooper-Hewitt Museum (in New York).
