FLAT

The Flat collection offers a sculptural approach to lighting, where metal planes positioned at varying heights create a soft, diffused glow. These geometric forms act as both reflectors and light sources, subtly illuminating their surroundings while maintaining a weightless appearance. The pendant and ceiling models provide a striking yet understated presence, making them ideal for contemporary interiors that favor clean lines and minimal aesthetics.

Designed to function as both lighting and design elements, the floor and table lamps extend the concept with versatile configurations. Whether as a compact disc or a larger plate that doubles as an auxiliary surface, each piece balances practicality with visual impact. The layered structure not only enhances spatial depth but also creates an interplay of light and shadow, making these fixtures a refined addition to modern spaces.

Flat Pendants - A study in geometry

The Flat Pendants are expressed as metal planes placed at different heights. They reflect the light from their surfaces, projecting an enveloping luminance. Hanging from a cable from the ceiling the pendant light fittings are both delicate yet strikingly graphic appearing to float overhead. The collection features distinctive, disc-shaped diffusers that form horizontal planes of light, infusing a space with pools of soft illumination.

FLAT Ceiling Lights

The FLAT ceiling lights, with LED sources, are made from metallic planes placed at different heights. The surfaces of these planes reflect the light, projecting an enveloping luminance that appears to come from its interior. Delicate yet strikingly graphic, a light that appears to be floating overhead. It comes in small or large sizes with a single or double disc. The single-disc style reflects indirect light up towards the ceiling, while the double disc's smaller, complementary plate captures and reflects light back at the larger disc, creating a pocket of soft, pooled indirect light. A triple-disc version is available for commercial use.

Flat Floor Table Lamp

Flat floor lamp comes in small and large sizes with either a simple or double metal pan, a compact disc, or a plate that acts as an auxiliary piece of furniture. When arranged in pairs the smaller matching disc captures the reflected light within the larger pan thus creating a focus of softer grouped lighting that lights both space as well as the light’s own surfaces.

Ichiro Iwasaki

Ichiro Iwasaki is the designer of the Tube, Flat and Pin collection for Vibia. He has collaborated with various clients, both in Japan and in other countries, and has been involved in all kinds of design projects, ranging from household items to electronic devices. The Tube collection groupt ceiling and pendant lamps. The Flat collection groupt floor, pendant, ceiling and table. The Pin collection groups together different applications such as wall lamps, floor lamps and table lamps. Products designed to improve the intimate spaces we inhabit and to update the tradition in interior design.
