ARRAY
Array is an exploration of thread and its potential to create lightweight and dynamic sculptures of light. Composed of an array of fine threads pulled taut between two rings, the collection presents a variety of conical and cylindrical silhouettes that can be combined to form a compelling installation. Array makes a striking statement for a variety of commercial and residential spaces. The collection incorporates two different heights in various shapes, the largest of which extends to over 6 feet in height and 49 inches in diameter.
The matte black of the metal rings is complemented by the soft hue of the threads, which come in a warm terra red, sober green, and neutral beige to suit a variety of contemporary palettes.

The spacing distribution of the threads creates translucency and volume, whilst the layering effect gives the illusion of movement. Suspended overhead, Array emits a pleasant downlight projected from an invisible source concealed within the lower ring.

Umut Yamac
Umut Yamac is a London based Architect and Designer whose work is characterized by a multidisciplinary approach; exploring the middle ground between architecture and light.
After studying Architecture, he established his design studio in 2011 to focus on the human scale; objects and installations responsive to both user and space through playful interaction and movement. The studio output ranges from collaborations with international lighting and furniture brands to bespoke installations and gallery pieces. Yamac has created Array in collaboration with Vibia, a collection of pendant lamps where concepts of form, texture and light intersect in a range of three-dimensional models that glow from above.
Often taking inspiration from nature, conceptual ideas are tested through a hands-on process of making where the workshop plays a central role in the development and realization of each project.
